China Visa-Free Policy Guide
China has extended its visa-free policies to make travel easier for international visitors. This guide covers 24-hour transit, 10-day transit, 30-day entry, and recommended tours.
24-Hour Transit Visa Exemption
All of China's open ports implement a 24-hour transit visa exemption for travelers from all countries. Foreign nationals with valid international travel documents and confirmed onward tickets may transit through China by aircraft, vessel, or train to a third country or region. If staying no more than 24 hours without leaving the designated port area, no visa is required. To leave the port area, apply for a temporary entry permit at the port immigration authority.
10-Day Visa-Free Transit
Travelers from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and 52 other countries can enjoy a 240-hour (10-day) visa-free transit. You may enter through 65 ports in 24 provinces and explore Beijing, Shanghai, Xi'an, Zhangjiajie, and more without a visa. See the 10-day transit guide for details.
30-Day Visa-Free Entry (Until Dec 31, 2026)
Citizens of Australia, Germany, Spain, Italy, France, New Zealand, Belgium, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, Singapore, and 37 other countries can enjoy up to 30 days of visa-free travel in China. See the 30-day visa-free guide for details.
